“This is going to sting for a second.”

            “Ok. Just get it over with.”  She braced herself for the pain.

            As Ted got up to leave, Jaime also stood up and covered the front of her with the shirt.  She didn’t know if she stepped on the crayons or the toy cars on the floor as she tried to walk Ted out but she felt herself falling.  Ted reached out and grabbed her arms to steady her.

            Ted held onto both her upper arms and pulled her tight against his chest.  She made the mistake of looking into his eyes and catching him off guard.  For a second the anguish she saw in the depths of his blue eyes shocked her.  Did she really hurt him that much?

            “Ted…  I…I’m sorry for what happened.” She stammered.

            “Luke…he,” before she could utter another word Ted kissed her.  His moist lips covered her and grew more insistent as she finally gave in to the kiss.  His tongue traced her lips and tasted her mouth before finding her tongue. 

Ted couldn’t get enough of her.  It’s been ten years since he had kissed her and she tasted the same and smelled the same as she did ten years ago.   The aching inside of him seems to multiply.  He needed her but his mind screamed “NO.”

Her mind told her to pull away and to explain to him what happened.  She needed him to know the truth. 

Before they could break away or talk, Sam and Liz burst through the door.  Liz, her best friend a short athletic brunette she had met in school was supposed to drop Sam off at 7 p.m.  Jamie checked her watch and it showed 7 p.m. 

            A bubbly Sam ran to his Mom and asked, “Mom, are you ok?  What’s wrong with your back?”

            Ted answered him.  “Your Mom saved a boy’s life today.  She hurt her back a little, but she’ll be fine.” 

            “Are you ok, Mom?  Wow, Mom, that’s so cool.”
