This is a romantic story about a dream lover.  I'm sure everyone's had a dream lover or maybe a few.  I guess I'm not the exception and here's dream lover no.1   If you like it then you should wait for dream lover no.2 because I'm sure he'll be way hotter.  Hey, a girl can only dream, right?  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, if only I don't have to wake up from these "wonderful" dreams.  Let's say that Dan is inspired by Piper's ex boyfriend in Charmed, tall brown wavy hair...sexy and sweet looking Dan Gordon, her next door neighbor.  The tv series charmed is one of my favorite, and I'm not much of a tv person either.  Actually, Cole is my favorite male in that series since he is more my type than Dan is.  Cole is so tall, dark, handsome...not only that, he's more intense, passionate, and serious.

Dream Lover

By Katherine Ly

The cold november wind hitting my helmet and body rushed by fiercely making my grip around his waist tighten.  I was on the back of Dan's motorcycle zipping through lanes on the freeway faster than the other cars.  It was both scary yet thrilling at the same time. The blood in my veins were frozen due to fear yet my heart was beating louder than a drum.  I don't know how he talked me on the bike, I'm normally a wimpy type of gal.

That's how I think of Dan...wild, exciting, and larger than life.  A risk taker in the physical sense while I was the risk taker in the financial sense.  To me, risking your life is too large of a gamble for me.  Things like skydiving, caving, rock climbing and other types of extreme sports were not my forte (I'd tried to stay far away from those things).  But Dan on the other hand lived from thrill to near death experiences like a leap frog, unafraid.  When I met him I didn't think we would have a conversation of longer than one sentence much less spending time together.  Just thinking about how we met made me grin inside my helmet.

After quitting as an analyst for the financial markets at a large firm due to burnout, I was working part-time at the local florist shop fixing the window display when wavy brown-haired and blue eyes athletic guy in a leather jacket walked pass the window.  I'd smiled at such nice looking eye candy thinking he couldn't see me behind the flowers I held in my hands.  Boy, was I wrong.  He backtracked and smiled back at me standing outside for 2 seconds.  Then he walked into the shop.  I was stunned and didn't know what to say.  When I finally snapped out of it, I asked him if I could help him.

He introduced himself and said he needed my help to pick the right flowers and wanted my opinion.  I asked him who it was for.  He said it was for a girl he was looking to impress and that I reminded him of her.  Dan then asked me what my favorite flowers were.  I said white lilies but I added that if he liked her then he should consider getting pink roses which expresses interest and like to the girl.  Dan wanted me to create a combo of white lilies and pink roses.  When I was done it was a magnificant creation of bouquet, even if I do say so myself.

Dan then asked me if I was available to join him for dinner that night so he could give me my flowers.  I was beyond thrilled and shocked.  I gave him my phone number and told him to pick me up at 7.  It was perfecto!  It was too good to be true.  He did show up at my front porch with those beautiful flowers.  He'd offered me a motorcycle ride later that night after dinner, it was the first of many motorcycle rides but I don't think I would ever get used to the excitement of zipping through lanes and feeling the wind blowing through me.

That was before I had Dan stretched out on the rug in front of the fire on a cold winter night.  He was yummy and much more delicious without his shirt showing off his athletic tan washboard abs.  His hair reminds me of those surfer dudes from hawaii.  The fire was dancing in his eyes and his smile was oh so flirty and mischievous.

"Hey, I got you a present...don't you want to see it?"  Dan was pulling out a small gift wrapped box to hand to me.  He was nervous and anxious at the same time.

"Maybe later...there's something else I'd like to unwrap."  I grinned.  Looking at the gorgeous male in front of me it was hard to think of anything else.  You could say that my mind was on 'something' else.  Yes, that.

"Oh, yeah?"  He grinned, that i-know-what-you're-thinking-about all-male smile.

"Oh yeah.  Let me show you."   Without further ado I pulled him closer and kissed him like I'd never see him again.  A friend had told me that if you truly love someone, you should kiss them like you'd never see them again each and every single time.  I'd started nibbling his lower jawline, his ears, his neck,...then I traveled lower.  I love to feel and kiss those nice chest muscles and his flat abs, until I got to that happy trail with just a slight sprinkling of light brown hair.

"Wait a sec. Come up here."  Dan pulled me back up and turned serious again. "Tonight's supposed to be about you."

"Me? Why?  What are we celebrating?"  Thanksgiving is a few days away so it can't be that.  Was there another important date?  Sometimes, I swear I'm almost as bad as a guy in remembering actual dates.  Did he say it was 'all about me'?  No one had ever treated her like that before, like she was precious and cherished.  It was a heady feeling indeed.

"It's your birthday or have you forgotten?" He looked at my puzzled and surprised face. Handing me the little gift wrapped box he said, "Open it, I insist."

"Oh, I don't need any presents.  You're so silly.  I've already got you...what else could I want?  But fine, I'll open it."  It was a tiny box wrapped in gold foil with a tiny red ribbon on top...it was so delicate and beautiful that I didn't want to unwrap it.  When I opened the box, I was shocked.  It was...a ring.  I had not expected that.  It was a platinum ring with a single solitaire diamond shaped like a tear drop.  It was beautiful.

              "Lindsey, will you marry me?"

I was speechless.  I love him so much.  For two whole minutes I'd forgotten that he was still waiting for my response.  I had forgotten to breath.  Then I remembered to let out a breath and inhale.

"Yes.  Yes.  Double yes.  Triple yes.  I love you so much Dan, even though we've only known each other for a few months."

"I know.  And I love you.  It seems like we've known each other longer.  Maybe in a past life or something.  It's almost like we've known each other and then lost contact and then when we connected again I knew that I didn't want to let you go to walk away from me ever.  That's when I knew I had to ask you to marry me.  If I didn't I wouldn't know what to do if you left."  He was so happy.

"Oh, Dan...I would never leave.  I've got it too good.  Well, maybe if you'd persuade me with a few more kisses and umm...your skillful hands and everything else."  As I slowly unbuckle his belt and unbutton his jeans...

He laughed loudly and seductive.  "I believe that can be easily arranged.  Why don't I start working on that now?"

Hmm... Mrs. Johanson.  That sounds nice. Just thinking about it spread a warm happy glow through my body.  "Well, Mr. Johanson...I can't wait to see your hot sexy body.  Strip."

He laughed again.  "You're impatient tonight.  Don't worry, we've got all night to celebrate."

I agreed.  Not just tonight but for the rest of our lives.  And I meant it when I said that I've got it good.  A gorgeous and wonderful male that loves me.  It seems like I didn't find what I was looking for but he found me.  So in the end, everything did work out quite nicely.

And then he proceeded to show me exactly what he meant and how he felt.  And...mmm...  You just know when a man loves you when he looks at you like you're the best chocolate cake in the whole world and he wants to gulp you down, yet savoring every moment because he can't get enough.
